Abstract

The article discusses the main stages in the development of mathematical analysis in St. Petersburg in the 18th and 19th centuries. Brief biographical information and a description of the most important results of outstanding representatives of the St. Petersburg mathematical school - L. Euler, M. V. Ostrogradsky, V. Ya. Bunyakovsky, P. L.Chebyshev, Yu. V. Sokhotski, A. A. Markov - are presented.
